What is Rapid COVID-19 Testing?
This quick test uses a nasal or swab to detect viral proteins within the body. The results will be available within 15 minutes, telling you if you currently have a COVID-19 infection and are contagious. Youth Haus offers a nasal swab COVID-19 test as well as a PCR test and Antibody test if you’re in the West Hollywood and Los Angeles area.
Which COVID 19 Test Is Best For Me?
Nasal Swab: A nasal swab COVID-19 test is one of the most commonly used ways to test for the COVId-19 virus. It’s used to identify if a person has or does not have COVID-19. This version of the test may be a little uncomfortable for some, however it can be done on your own and results are known within 15 minutes of taking the test.
PCR Test: This test uses a saliva sample to determine if you currently have COVID-19. PCR testing detects RNA, or genetic material, that is commonly associated with the virus - even within days of infection. Your sample will be sent to a lab for testing, and you will soon be contacted by our Youth Haus staff with your results.
Antibody Test: Antibodies are typically detected in the blood of people who are tested after infection; they show an immune response to the infection. Antibody test results are especially important for detecting previous infections in people who had few or no symptoms. The results are roughly 90% accurate.
