What is Microneedling with PRP?

Also known as a “vampire facial,” microneedling with PRP takes this popular procedure to the next level. Like with a regular microneedling treatment, a handheld device containing hundreds of tiny needles is used to create micro-punctures, or controlled injuries, to the top layer of your skin. This triggers the body’s natural healing process to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, working to treat a variety of skin issues. The difference with a Microneedling with PRP facial? After the micro-punctures are made, PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) is injected into the treated tissue to “bathe” the cells and speed up the healing process. The PRP is obtained from drawing a small amount of your own blood, from which the plasma is then separated to concentrate healing properties. This advanced technique is used by tons of celebrities, influencers, and athletes to rejuvenate the skin in an instant.

Microneedling with PRP Benefits

The PRP added to your skin speeds up the skin healing process, and therefore the production of collagen and elastin within the skin. This leads to the following benefits:

  • Reduction in broken capillaries and/or spider veins

  • More even skin tone and texture

  • Improves the appearance of acne scars

  • Smaller pores

  • Glowing complexion

  • Reduction in fine lines and wrinkles

  • Skin that feels rejuvenated and firm

What is the difference between Microneedling and Microneedling with PRP?

Microneedling

Microneedling is a procedure in which our nurses use a handheld needling device to inflict micro-punctures to the top layer of the skin. Hundreds of tiny needles create controlled injuries, triggering the body’s natural healing process to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin. While these substances are both naturally produced by the body, they decline as you age, and this can cause issues like sagging skin and fine lines. Microneedling signals more collagen and elastin to your skin to create an enhancement in your skin’s texture, along with an improvement in issues like fine lines, discoloration, and acne scars. The best part? This treatment can reach the delicate parts of your face, like the under eyes and mouth area, both of which are more prone to early aging. While results and needs vary by person, microneedling is a simple solution for more youthful and radiant skin.

Microneedling with PRP FAQ

How long does the procedure take?

Generally between 30-45 minutes.

What are the side effects?

While this treatment is 100% safe and side effects are minimal, you may experience a bit of skin redness, swelling, itchiness, or tenderness for the first 24 hours after treatment. However, they are minimal and should disappear quickly.

What does Microneedling feel like?

While the idea of hundreds of needles (and your own blood!) to the face may sound scary, we promise you that it’s really not so bad. In fact, our microneedling with PRP treatments are administered by trained professionals to ensure that you feel as little pain as possible. In addition, they’ll analyze your skin type and conditions to determine the right length of needles for your best results. While you may feel a few pricks and a slight bit of discomfort during the procedure, the pain level is low and won’t last long at all.

When will I see results, and how long will results last?

It varies with each individual. Many guests see a significant improvement in their skin after one session, such as smaller pores or firmer skin, while others notice the greatest difference after days or weeks. It is generally recommended that microneedling be completed in a series of 3-5 treatments every 4-6 weeks, to keep up results and help your skin look its best. However, the frequency of treatments ultimately depends upon your desired results, needle length used, and other factors. You’ll also see long term results over the months as you watch your skin become more radiant and rejuvenated each day.
